Alexis is in Melbourne as part of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival. Her performance of Amy Winehouse Resurrected will be on from 26 – 27 June 2019 at Chapel Off Chapel.
Amy Winehouse has been resurrected, revived and reimagined in this brand new, hilarious and uplifting show starring world-renowned actor and singer, Alexis Fishman, direct from New York. After the news arrives that her idol Tony Bennett would give anything to record with her again, Amy Winehouse finds her way back from wherever it is she went after her untimely death in 2011. She’s ripe for a comeback, even if it’s from the dead. Expect the beehive, the foul-mouth and all of Amy’s hits, including some you may never have heard before.

Since the mid-90s Susan’s focus has been to explore the expressive potential of the voice and the body. She has extensive experience creating new music and performance works for the embodied voice both in live production and recordings.
Her explorations and experiments with extended voice have been deeply influenced by her past and ongoing studies with exploratory voice practitioners internationally and in Australia including: Linda Wise, Jonathan Hart and Vicente Fuentes (Roy Hart Theatre), Patsy Rodenburg, Frankie Armstrong, Monica Pagneaux, Anna Zubrycka (Song of the Goat), Jenny Caire (Estill Voice Training), Catherine Fitzmaurice and Helen Sharp and John Howard (Body Voice Centre).
She has taught voice privately and at numerous Victorian tertiary theatre training institutions including The National Theatre, APS, Federation University, Victoria University, St Martins Youth Arts Centre and Melbourne University. She is a PhD candidate at La Trobe University exploring embodiment and presence in the work of Zygmunt Molik and Roy Hart Voice Work.
Some of her recent work includes: A ‘sing-along’ soundtrack for Digging Deeper (Butterfly Club, 2019), vocal coach and song composition in collaboration with Deborah Leiser-Moore for Medea: Kaddish for the Children (FCAC, 2019), song composition for Moon Moves at Museum Victoria (Scienceworks) with Biddy Connor (2018/19), performance in Geoff Robinson’s Itinerant Sounds for Liquid Architecture (2018), co-creation of Fragments with Elissa Goodrich and Margaret Mills (La Mama, 2017), co-creation and performance of audio tour for Hyper Real at the National Gallery of Australia (2017), co-creation and performance of Bottlenecked at Melbourne Museum for ‘Elevate.1’ - Global Day of Performances in Elevators (2017), performance in Daniel Schusser’s Schmaltz at the Malthouse Theatre (2016) and Play Me I’m Yours at Arts Centre Melbourne (2014). Susan was nominated for Best Female Performer (Fringe) in the 2001 Greenroom Awards for Quartetand won the 2004 Fringe Festival Award for Most Outstanding Female Performer for The Now Hour. Her composition with Belinda Moody Ah Wish was selected for ABC Jazz tracks 30th Anniversary CD (2007).She sings with the music group Oblique Strategies reimagining the music of Brian Eno.

MysTori is a Melbourne based performance and vocal artist, singer songwriter and Clown, currently working in partnership with visual and conceptual navigator G.T.ExPress (The Consultants) and Musical Director Jane Belfrage (Harps for Happiness) in association with The Body Voice Centre Footscray and Gemco Theatre in Emerald.
Clown Rules is a live musical event infused with Clown, exploring the Provocative satirical hysterical historical visceral physical theatre space, set within the theme of Decolonisation and some of the myths surrounding Australian Colonial History. Within the realms of the physical and musical landscape, the clown arrives to offer something new in the way of rethinking our cultural landscape. It is here we may open a dialogue of what it means to live within this land we call Australia. Having returned from her second consecutive internship at the Roy Hart Centre in in France where she performed and developed Les Femmes Sauvages De Dieu – Wild Women Of God - performed at the Roy Hart Theatre in France, 2015, & in 2016 for The Melbourne Fringe Festival, she is excited to be working on Clown Rules, a musical theatre piece exploring the notion of Decolonisation and Clown. MysTori’s performance exploration includes Mask and Archetype, extended voice, healing arts & the realms of Bouffon & Clown. After receiving an award for best actress in the 1991 ANA drama awards MysTori went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Performance Studies then lived in London, working and studying in the Healing Arts. In 2008, MysTori was awarded an Outstanding Achievement in Research for her Honours Project A Masked Manifesto – A Journey of the Mask, incorporating mask, video, sound, 3-D animation, written thesis and live presentation. MysTori has worked in community theatre projects including Page to Stage productions of Shakespeare and contemporary plays, community radio and presenting, singing in live bands, music and theatre improvisation, community choir & CMV projects, multi-media productions and is a committee member and Performance Practitioner with In The Company of Others and has an extensive involvement and participation in The Body Voice Centre, Footscray. MysTori also loves gardening, yoga and playing the ukulele. |

I'm a painter/landscape architect/sailor who loves to explore the world and find out what's behind the horizon.
My profession is landscape architecture, but it's through painting that I can really explore and cultivate what's going on in my inner landscape. Whatever's going on in my life at the moment can be processed and expressed by painting. That's why I had to carry my painting kit with me as I was travelling the world for two and a half years was. People, places, new experiences all come together and inspire me to paint and explore the world through colour and form.
My time at the Body Voice centre provided me with an inspiring environment with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. It was a combination of a great city and neighborhood, interesting activities in the building, warm and welcoming people and a beautiful space. All together it was an amazing experience that I will treasure for a long time.
The photos of me are from the South Africa-part of my journey. It had exquisite nature and great hairdressers 😊
